Juki DDL-8700 Error Codes: E003 to E924 (DDL-8100 Too)

First, note the exact code on the panel. Then switch off and reseat the plug named in the table. After that, restart and test on scrap cloth. However, if the same DDL-8700 error code returns, stop restarting, because repeated faults can damage the box. Instead, check the motor cable and the supply voltage. Finally, replace a part only when the plug, cable and supply are fine.

First, the synchronizer codes (E003 to E005) usually point to plugs, so check those before anything else. Next, E007 normally means a jam. However, E811 and E813 are supply problems, so a stabiliser helps. Also, E924 often follows an overvoltage event.
Juki DDL-8100 and older control boxes

On older boxes, most codes are single digits. So E1 and E13 are power module faults, while E9 and E12 are synchronizer signal problems. Therefore, check the plugs first, and then the board.
Juki MO-6800S overlock error codes
Because these codes come from the MO-6800S manual, do not assume they apply to MO-6700 or MO-6900. Instead, check your own manual first.
E01 means overvoltage (mains above about 317 V), while E02 means low voltage (below about 170 V). E03 is a panel to box communication fault, and E05 is a pedal signal fault. Also, E07 means the machine is locked, and it clears when the pulley is turned. E09 means the upper stop position was not found, and E14 is an encoder or hall sensor fault. Finally, E15 is hardware overcurrent, E19 is a capacitor connection fault, and E21 means the panel restarted.
Repair or replace: DDL-8700 error codes
First, most E003 to E005 and E730 faults are plugs or cables, which cost little. However, E811, E813 and E924 usually come from the supply, so fit a stabiliser before replacing the box. To prevent these faults, first keep the machine clean and oiled. Also, use a stabiliser, because unstable mains voltage causes many codes. In addition, never pull on the plugs, since loose or damaged cables cause repeat errors. Moreover, switch off before you unplug anything. Therefore, a few minutes of care each week saves costly repairs. Finally, keep a note of every code and the date, so you can spot a pattern.
When to fix DDL-8700 error codes yourself
Besides that, always test after each fix. For example, run the machine slowly after you reseat a plug. Then, if the code returns, move to the next check. In short, change one thing at a time. Consequently, you will know what fixed it.
Furthermore, keep spare fuses and a spare cable on hand. Thus, a simple failure never stops your line for long. Hence, order common spares before you need them. Finally, ask us if you are unsure which part fits.
Additionally, write the code on a tag near the machine. Then, the next operator sees the history at once. Similarly, note the date of each repair.
Also, remember that a code is only a clue. For instance, an overcurrent code may come from a dry machine, not a bad box. Likewise, a sensor code may be just a dirty sensor. Therefore, clean and check first, and then replace parts. As a result, you save money and downtime. Otherwise, you may change a good part.
However, some faults need a technician. For example, a burnt smell or a blown fuse means you should stop at once. Similarly, repeated overcurrent codes point to a failed part. Because of this, do not open a live control box. Instead, send us the model number and code on WhatsApp. Then we can suggest the right part quickly.

What does E007 mean on Juki? The motor is overloaded. So look for thread wound round the pulley or a jammed hook before blaming the motor.
Is E000 an error? No, it only reports that data was initialised.
Why do I get E811? Because the mains voltage is above the machine’s rating. Therefore, check the voltage selector and use a stabiliser.
