First, note the exact code on the panel. Then switch off and reseat the plug named in the table. After that, restart and test on scrap cloth. However, if the same Zoje error code returns, stop restarting, because repeated faults can damage the board. Instead, check the motor cable and the supply voltage. Finally, replace a part only when the plug, cable and supply are fine.
JACK H2 (Err-xx)
Err-01 hardware overcurrent; Err-02 software overcurrent; Err-03 low voltage; Err-04 overvoltage when stopped; Err-05 overvoltage while running; Err-07 current detection circuit; Err-08 motor stuck; Err-09 brake circuit; Err-12 initial motor angle; Err-13 encoder signal; Err-14 main board EEPROM; Err-15 motor overspeed; Err-16 motor reversal; Err-18 motor overload; A-UP head tilt alarm. Fix pattern: switch off, wait 30 seconds, restart; replace the controller if it repeats.
JACK ZB-A2S (same numbers as A4)
Err-01 hardware overcurrent; Err-02 software overcurrent; Err-03 undervoltage; Err-04 overvoltage at shutdown; Err-05 overvoltage while running; Err-07 current detection circuit failure; Err-08 motor stalled; Err-09 brake failure; Err-10 panel communication failure; Err-12 motor initial angle detection fault; Err-13 motor encoder signal missing; Err-14 motherboard EEPROM read/write fault; Err-15 motor overspeed protection. These numbers match the A4/K4/A5 table for the codes they share. For the A2 range, see the JACK A2, A2B and A2C codes. For most of these, switch off, wait 30 seconds and restart; replace the controller if the code repeats.
JACK JK-T1377E
Err-01 and Err-02 overcurrent (switch off 30 seconds, replace controller if repeated); Err-03 undervoltage; Err-04 and Err-05 overvoltage; Err-06 solenoid wiring; Err-07 current detection; Err-08 motor jam (check the motor plug and foreign objects); Err-09 brake circuit; Err-10 panel communication; Err-11 needle-stop signal (check the synchronizer plugs); Err-12 motor angle detection; Err-13 motor hall signal; Err-23 locked rotor.
Zoje error codes: WR580
These follow the Zoje WR580 product manual. The control box works on 180 V to 260 V, and the manual asks for a good earth connection, so check both before blaming the board. The WR580 uses codes E1 to E19.
| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| E1 | Hardware over-current (motor over-current) | Check earthing and whether the drive device is damaged; check the motor for a short between its pins and equal resistance on all three phases; check the encoder grating is not touching the sensor |
| E2 | Software over-current (motor current above about 16 A) | Check earthing and the current sampling circuit; check the motor phases as for E1 |
| E3 | Over-voltage when shut down (bus above 450 V for 3 seconds) | Check the supply voltage is stable and within 200 to 250 V; fit a stabiliser |
| E4 | Under-voltage when shut down (bus below 180 V for 3 seconds) | Check the supply voltage is not too low, within 200 to 250 V |
| E5 | Over-voltage when running (bus above 460 V for 10 ms) | Check the supply voltage is stable and within 200 to 250 V |
| E6 | Needle position signal error (needle-up signal unchanged for 1 second above 50 rpm) | Check the encoder socket and its connection to the main board |
| E7 | Motor HALL signal error at power-on | Check the encoder socket is fully connected and that there is no dust inside the encoder |
| E8 | Motor stuck while running (speed below 25 rpm for 2 seconds, or current above 10 A) | Common on thick material: adjust parameter II no. 22. Also check that the machine and motor turn freely |
| E9 | Motor overspeed | Check the motor angle on the monitor screen (should read 252 plus or minus 5) and the encoder |
| E10 | Under-voltage while running | Check earthing and the current sampling circuit |
| E11 | Motor HALL_A signal lost (HALL initialisation fault) | Check the motor plug and the encoder socket; dust inside the encoder can cause it |
| E12 | Motor overload | Check for a stuck machine and very frequent stop-start; dust inside the encoder also causes it |
| E13 | EEPROM error (control chip reads wrong data) | Restore factory settings first; if it stays, control board service or replacement |
| E14 | Current detection circuit fault (zero offset too large) | Control board service or replacement |
| E15 | Pedal zero position over limit | Set the pedal zero again: adjust parameter 25 and the pedal positioning screw |
| E16 | OZ loop fault | Listen for the relay clicking on a 220 V supply and check the UDC voltage on the monitor screen; control board service |
| E17 | Motor rotating in reverse | Check the motor angle (252 plus or minus 5) first, then the signal line |
| E18 | Motor angle error while running | Check the motor angle is within 252 plus or minus 5; check the motor is not stuck |
| E19 | Turn-over warning (tilt switch active) | Check the control board is upright and the tilt (mercury) switch is working |
SunStar bartack error codes: SPS/E-BS1201H
These are SunStar controller codes, not Zoje WR580 codes. Er03 needle bar position; Er04 drive limit; Er05 and Er55 cannot reach X origin in time; Er06 Y origin; Er07 ROM version mismatch; Er13 fan failure; Er14 main motor type recognition; Er15 synchronizer contact error; Er16 origin cable missing or XY sensor fault; Er36 low air pressure. Origin and synchronizer faults are usually sensors or cables.
Which part fixes Zoje error codes?
Voltage codes need a stabiliser first. Motor and hall codes point to the motor cable, then the motor. For a full set, see our universal direct-drive servo motor and the servo control board. Source: Zoje WR580 manual.
To prevent these faults, first keep the machine clean and oiled. Also, use a stabiliser, because unstable mains voltage causes many codes. In addition, never pull on the plugs, since loose or damaged cables cause repeat errors. Moreover, switch off before you unplug anything. Therefore, a few minutes of care each week saves costly repairs. Finally, keep a note of every code and the date, so you can spot a pattern.
However, some faults need a technician. For example, a burnt smell or a blown fuse means you should stop at once. Similarly, repeated overcurrent codes point to a failed part. Because of this, do not open a live control box. Instead, send us the model number and code on WhatsApp. Then we can suggest the right part quickly.
FAQ
Do JACK H2, ZB-A2S and A4 share the same codes? Mostly yes. The numbers match for the faults they share, such as Err-01 to Err-05, Err-08, Err-09, Err-12, Err-14 and Err-15. H2 and ZB-A2S just list fewer codes.
What does Zoje E11 mean? The hall signal from the motor is lost. So reseat or replace the motor plug.
What does Zoje E8 mean? The motor is stuck or running too slowly. It often appears on thick material, so adjust parameter II no. 22 and check that the machine turns freely.
